BioMed-AI Summer School

A Hub Program for Responsible AI in Health

The BioMed-AI Summer School is a flagship program of the Digital Health Literacy & Policy Hub.

Artificial intelligence is changing healthcare, from diagnosis and treatment to research and patient care. While these technologies offer great promise, they also raise important questions about ethics, safety, data protection, and trust. It brings together experts, researchers, and practitioners from health, law, ethics, and technology to explore how AI can be used responsibly in medicine and public health.

The program combines clear, accessible lectures with hands-on workshops, helping participants understand both how AI tools work and how to use them in ways that respect human rights, patient autonomy, and evidence-based practice.

Each year, the Summer School “travels” in a different country, allowing participants to learn from local rules, ethics, and innovation practices in digital health. Through collaboration with local organizers and international partners, the BioMed-AI Summer School supports capacity-building, policy dialogue, and practical skills, helping ensure that digital health innovation is safe, inclusive, and beneficial for all.
