Dr. Teodora Lalova-Spinks

Dr. Teodora Lalova-Spinks is a legal scholar specializing in data protection, privacy, patient empowerment, and the legal frameworks for health research, with experience in empirical methods. She holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Law from KU Leuven, funded by a competitive Research Foundation - Flanders scholarship.
She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven, focusing on whether patient empowerment can foster access to and reuse of data in biomedical research while allowing meaningful protection of the fundamental right to data protection.
Her expertise spans EU and international health law, patient rights, clinical research, and biobanking. She brings to the Hub critical insights into data governance, regulatory frameworks, and interdisciplinary collaboration for responsible biomedical research.
