Dr. Stella Apostolaki
Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Deree and Executive Director of the Centre of Excellence in Sustainability of The American College of Greece (ACG)
Dr. Stella Apostolaki is Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at the Department of Natural Sciences at Deree and Executive Director of the Centre of Excellence in Sustainability of The American College of Greece. She is also the Gender Equality Officer and a member of the ACG Research Council.
She holds a BSc in Environmental Science, an MSc in Urban Water and Environmental Management, and a PhD on sustainable urban drainage systems and river management options from the University of Abertay Dundee. Her work has been supported by the Environment Agency for England & Wales, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and HR Wallingford Consultants.
Her research interests include integrated water management, sustainable development, stormwater management, climate change, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, public awareness, stakeholder engagement, green urban planning, and implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. For the Hub, she focuses on the sustainability elements of AI and the environmental and social impacts of health-related AI tools.
