Ciara Staunton is a leading international authority on the ethical, legal, and social governance of genomics, biobanking, and health data. Her work centers on developing robust, forward-looking regulatory frameworks that enable responsible innovation across research, clinical care, and public health.

She has served as a consultant to major public health bodies including the World Health Organization, the Global Fund, and Africa CDC. Her work as lead consultant for the WHO’s guiding principles on human genome data access reflects her global standing.
