Dr. Sofia Palmieri
Post-doctoral Fellow in Medicine, AI, and Law
Sofia Palmieri is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the intersection of medicine, artificial intelligence, and health law, advancing regulatory and ethical frameworks for safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based AI in healthcare. Her research integrates law, ethics, and emerging technologies to ensure responsible AI deployment in clinical settings.
She holds a PhD in Health Law from the University of Ghent and graduated with honors in Law from the University of Bologna. Sofia has previously served as an FWO Postdoctoral Fellow within the Metamedica research group at Ghent University. She is also Managing Editor of the European Journal of Health Law and a core team member of AI4Health, part of AI4Belgium.
Sofia brings expertise in AI policy, healthcare compliance, and health law governance to the Hub, supporting interdisciplinary efforts to implement ethically robust and legally sound digital health innovations.
