Orestis Trasanidis
EIT AI Leader, 28DIGITAL Hub Silicon Valley
Orestis Trasanidis is an innovation leader and mechanical engineer whose expertise spans sustainable development, artificial intelligence, and open innovation ecosystems. He holds an engineering degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with specialization in environmental engineering and sustainable development, as well as postgraduate degrees in ICT and Smart Cities as a European Commission scholar.
His work centers on building scalable, impactful digital innovation frameworks, advancing decision-making methodologies, and fostering sustainability-driven technological ecosystems. In his role as EIT AI Leader, he leads Europe-wide AI initiatives, coordinates strategic projects, and oversees the EIT AI Community’s development of tools, policy contributions, and global engagement.
He brings to the Hub a strategic perspective at the intersection of AI, sustainability, and transatlantic innovation. As Managing Director of the EIT Hub Silicon Valley, he strengthens EU–US collaboration and builds bridges between leading ecosystems.
